Assistant Accountant, West Hull

As part of their succession planning, they’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to work closely with the Head of Accounts and grow into a senior role over time.  Based at their modern offices in Hessle, this is more than just another accounts job. It's a genuine opportunity to develop into someone who could one day run an accounts department. What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full accounts function, building the skills and confidence to progress your career:
  • Taking ownership of the purchase and sales ledger
  • Chasing outstanding payments and managing credit control
  • Posting transactions to the nominal ledger
  • Preparing accounts up to trial balance
  • Supporting the production of monthly management accounts
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Getting involved in a variety of other finance duties as your role grows

 

About you

You’ll already have some solid experience in an accounting role and be keen to take the next step. This would suit someone who’s motivated, career-focused, and excited by the idea of progression.

Experience working in accounts, ideally up to trial balance

Studying AAT (or planning to start) with full study support provided

Confident using Sage

Eager to build a long-term career in finance
