Stores/Purchasing Coordinator, Hull

On behalf of our client, Kingston Recruitment are currently looking to recruit an experienced Stores/Purchasing Coordinator to work for our Hull Based client, a world leader in their field.

The opportunity will be on a temporary basis initially with the possibility of going permanent in the New Year.

The successful candidate will operate in a split role between stores and office, ensuring engineering components and other consumables are readily available to staff on-site and accurately logged with SAP.

DUTIES:

  • To provide Product Information and to provide guidance for the maintenance and engineering teams to satisfy requirements.
  • Support communication between operations / engineering teams.
  • Cycle counting the warehouse. All stock lines must be counted in rotation at least twice in a 12-month period and all records must be kept for the audit trail.
  • Deliveries. To ensure deliveries are off loaded in a safe and timely manner.

To ensure that all deliveries are correct, checked off, marked up, put away and booked onto SAP within 24 hours.

  • Supply to site. To ensure any stocks taken from the stores (unless free stocks) are booked out on a works order or requisition note.

To make reasonably requests for deliveries around the site within 24 hours.

  • Ordering. To order stock using the MRP system twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
  • To order stock as and when required/requested by the various departments whilst obtaining the best price/service.
  • To communicate with suppliers to ensure delivery dates within SAP are correct.
  • Returns. To Contact the Technical Buyer or the Supplier in cases of damaged deliveries, incorrect items/quantities, or returns. To ensure the correct paperwork is produced and records are kept.
  • Identifying new savings opportunities from suppliers, with like for like and alternative products.
  • To consistently deliver the KPI's levels set for procurement, such as cost savings / aged stock.
  • Manage processes and systems to ensure all quality and technical requirements are met. To provide any information necessary to the Technical Buyer to maintain SAP records and min/max settings.
  • General House keeping duties and regular site standard / racking audits.
  • Manage the process for Equipment ie Electric tools, Scaffolding and Aerial Platforms.

To assist in booking out products for the trades and contractors.

SKILLS:

To be able to work Safely, operating under all Health and Safety systems and procedures whilst understanding client Safety Compliance Culture.

Excellent communication skills, being able to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal customers.

Strong organisational and time management skills.
